چکیده

This paper is a contribution to the modeling–methodological development of application mathematical systems theory in population biology. A discrete-time nonlinear Leslie-type model considered, where both reproduction and survival rates decrease as total size increases. In this context, monitoring problem means that, from observation certain age classes function time, we want recover (estimate) whole state process (i.e., time-dependent rest classes). First, for linearization approach, conditions existence asymptotic stability positive equilibrium are obtained, then observer design method applied estimate an unknown trajectory near equilibrium, could observe single class. It also shown how can be used detect change environment that affects dynamics. The environmental supposed generated by additional dynamics (exosystem). Now, extended with exosystem, system. way, estimation obtained different (constant or periodic) changes well.

A multi-region nonlinear age–size structured fish population model

The goal of this paper is to present a generic multi-region nonlinear age-size structured fish population model, and to assess its mathematical well-posedness. An initial-boundary value problem is formulated. Existence and uniqueness of a positive weak solution is proved. Eventually, a comparison result is derived : the population of all regions decreases as the mortality rate increases in at l...

Asymptotic behavior and effective boundaries for age-structured population models in a periodically changing environment

Human activity and other events can cause environmental changes to the habitat of organisms. The environmental changes effect the vital rates for a population. In order to predict the impact of these environmental changes on populations, we use two different models for population dynamics. One simpler linear model that ignores environmental competition between individuals and another model that...

Global dynamics in a stage-structured discrete-time population model with harvesting.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of constant effort harvesting upon global dynamics of a discrete-time population model with juvenile and adult stages. We consider different scenarios, including adult-only mortality, juvenile-only mortality, and equal mortality of juveniles and adults. In addition to analytical study of equilibria of the system, we analyze global dynamics by m...

Asymptotic Behaviour for a Nonlinear Age-structured Population Model with Diffusion∗ By

The internal zero-stabilization of the nonnegative solution to a nonlinear age-dependent population model with diffusion is investigated in this paper. It is provided here a necessary condition and a sufficient condition for the nonnegative zerostabilizability in terms of the value of the principal eigenvalue to a certain elliptic operator. This principal eigenvalue is related to the rate of th...
